Designed for Harmony
We are designed to live harmoniously with Nature.
When we DO find our rhythm within the day, season, lifestage we’re in … We feel a sense of steadiness and calm … AND ALSO a sense of joy and enthusiasm for our life.
I’m sure you’ve felt this synchronicity before!
When we find ourselves grinding past the rhythms and limitations of our bodies, of what Nature provides or signals us to take heed … well, I’m sure you’ve felt the effects in your body and mind too. Some may include:
Digestive upset.
Lack of sleep.
Weakness in the body.
Scattered. Burnt out. Angry. Anxious. Depressed. Feeling lost or without purpose. Lethargic. Irritable.
The Winter Season has both gentle and stark messages for us: Like the leaves, the fresh fruits, the wild animals … Things are dying off, drying up and/or going into hibernation. So too, are parts of you.
So, Nature advises us: harvest what you’ll need to nourish yourself (physically, emotionally, etc) … gather your resources, tie up loose ends, prepare your body, prepare your surroundings to snuggle in for the cold, dark months ahead.
And not as doom & gloom tasks, yet as joyful gathering, nesting, insulating and preparing for the quiet, reflective times of Winter.
How can we support our bodies in preparation for Winter? This may be supporting the immune system with yoga practice tailored for the season, or preparing the foods that are currently in-season that naturally provide the nourishment we need this time of year. It may be sitting in the sun whenever you can, soaking up those rays to counterbalance the longer nights.
Join me for simple, time-tested practices from Yoga and Ayurveda to support your VITALITY and WELL-BEING this Winter.
