The ultimate intention of a "yoga practice" according to the Yoga Sutras is sthira and sukkha. Sthira means stability, and sukkha means comfort or literally "good space."
Therefore, stability and comfort in the body, breath and mind is what a yoga practice seeks to provide.
That said, if there's a yoga practice that is touted as "good" or "the best for x, y, z" or a popular trend at this time -- and it destabilizes your body, breath or mind -- finding comfort or "good space" will be elusive.
Stability is the foundation upon which Comfort in the body, mind and breath is built.
So, choose your practices wisely, Friends. Swami Rama stated that "You are the architect of your lives. You design your destiny."
